Widget Avenue (“WA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection in respect of the collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal information. This policy details the practices we have adopted to protect your privacy, so that you can feel confident about how we manage the personal information you entrust to us.  We will take all commercially reasonable steps to maintain the security and integrity of your personal information including the use of computer access passwords, lock-up cabinets, personnel policies and firewalls.




2.1  When you purchase an item from our store, there are some features of our websites that   require you to sign up as part of the buying and selling process.  If you do sign up, we use the information you supply such as your name, postal address, email address, phone number, and date of birth for the purpose of providing products, product information or services you request.

2.1.1        Because of the volume of requests we receive, we may have to give your name, e-mail and postal addresses to a fulfillment house or distributor of our products who assist us in carrying out your requests.

4.1 How do you get my consent?

4.1.1 By using our Widget Avenue site or otherwise providing Widget Avenue with personal information, you are consenting Widget Avenue to collect, use, and disclose, your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


4.1.2 If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

4.2 How do I withdraw my consent?

4.2.1 If after you opt-in, you change your mind and you no longer wish us to keep your personal information on file, or if your personal information changes (such as your address and contact details), you may withdraw your consent anytime by contacting us at so we can remove your records. 



5.1 We may use or disclose your personal information without your consent if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

5.2 Where required by law, Widget Avenue will adopt an “opt-in” policy for obtaining consent where express consent will be sought from you when collecting personal data e.g. checking a box or signing a form.

5.3 Where you provide us with personal data of a third party on your behalf, you undertake and will ensure that the individual whose personal data is supplied to Widget Avenue has authorized the disclosure, is informed or consented to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

5.4 In most instances, we will ask for your consent explicitly but, in some cases, consent would necessarily be implied from your actions and behavior.


6.       SHOPIFY

6.1 Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

6.1.1 Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data in a secured server behind a firewall.

6.2 Payment Options:

6.2.1 If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

6.2.2 All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

7.1 In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

7.2 However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

7.3 For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

7.4 In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

7.5 As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

7.6 Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

9.      SECURITY

9.1 To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

9.2 If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.


10.1 Like most companies, we use "cookie" technology on our websites. These cookies are stored in your computer by your browser. When you log in, the cookie tells us whether you've visited us before or you are a new visitor.

10.2 The cookie doesn't obtain any personal information about you, doesn’t extract any information from your computer or provide us with any way to contact you.

10.3 We use the cookie to help us identify website features in which you have the greatest interest, so that we can provide more of what you want.

10.4 Here is a list of cookies that we use so that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not:

_session_id, unique token, sessional, Allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc).

_shopify_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, Used by our website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits

_shopify_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.

cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart.

_secure_session_id, unique token, sessional

storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite. If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.


11.1 By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence. Children's Privacy is of primary concern to us.

11.2 We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age unless you provide them to us. If a minor (according to applicable laws) has provided Widget Avenue with personal data without parental or guardian consent, the parent or guardian should contact Widget Avenue to remove the relevant personal data and unsubscribe the minor.


12.1 We reserve the right to modify our Privacy Policy at any time under which the information was collected.  If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on our websites so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

12.2 If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to offer products that may interest you.
