Standard iPhone apps listed in the App Store are not supported because Apple rejects apps developped using 3rd party APIs.

Widgets can be viewed on Safari with the iPhone using the following URL:

http://www.widgetavenue.com/wdg/loaders/iph.php?[Encoded list of args]

For example,using the Hello World widget built here, if your source HTML file is located at http://myserver.com/HelloWorld.html, you will be able to display your widget on an iPhone using the following link:

Web App

Installation

Having been displayed in standalone mode using Safari, Widgets can be installed on the iPhone as a Web App by clicking on the + sign at the bottom of the screen in Safari, and then choosing "Add To Home Screen".

  • An icon is created on the iPhone desktop making it easy to access the widget
  • The Safari upper and lower bars are not displayed
  • Storing Custom Preferences on the device is supported
