WidgetAvenue provides a very powerful and simple API that can be used by any third party developer to create cross platform widgets. Widgets developed using this API and powered by our Serving platform can be installed and run on a wide variety of host platforms. A complete technical documentation is available on our wiki.

Develop in Flash or HTML/Javascript

Various source formats can be used to create the widgets, including Flash, and a subset of HTML/Javascript that we call waHTML/waJS. The benefits of each of these formats is discussed on the wiki.

Customize the layout of the widget

The layout of the widget can be totally customized, using simple CSS. It is not required to include the WidgetAvenue branding, except for non commercial widgets where a mention "Powered by WidgetAvenue" should be displayed.

Use powerful contextual functions

Widget host platforms often provide the ability to use contextual functions, such as social functions on social networks. Our API gives access to these functions in a platform independent way.
